The American Society of Estate Liquidators® (ASEL) is pleased to announce Melanie Sohn as its new Director, succeeding longtime Director Julie Hall following her decades of leadership and service to the organization.

Sohn brings a unique blend of experience in estate liquidation, association management, and business resource development to the role. She got her start in the estate liquidation industry with her family’s Florida-based company, Full House Liquidation, and today serves as Vice President of Valuables Appraisal Service, a New Jersey-based personal property services firm specializing in appraisals and brokerage.
Throughout her career, Sohn has also worked in association management and spent several years developing tools, platforms, and resources that helped businesses better serve their stakeholders. Together, those experiences have shaped Sohn’s belief that the strongest industries are built by strong professional communities with access to practical education and resources.
“It is an honor to build upon the incredible work Julie Hall accomplished over the past twenty years,” said Sohn. “ASEL has earned a reputation for empowering professionals through education and ethical standards. My goal is to continue that legacy while creating even more opportunities for estate liquidators to grow their businesses, connect with one another, and strengthen our industry together.”
As ASEL enters its next chapter, Sohn is committed to preserving the organization’s longstanding values while building on them with renewed energy and purpose. She hopes to further establish ASEL as a leading platform for community, education, and professional development within the estate liquidation industry while continuing to uphold its core principles of propelling the industry, empowering excellence, and elevating ethics.
